Reinventing Your Company Culture as 2015 Begins

Company culture was a big buzzword in 2014. Many organizations were talking about their corporate values and what this means for hiring and retaining employees. Are you in a position where your company may need a cultural overhaul in 2015? How do you reinvent your company culture without losing everything you stand for?

Evaluate your expectations.

The first think you want to review is how your current company mission statement is supporting your expectations as a business. You want to make sure that you’re staying on track and eliminate any policies that aren’t supporting your overall mission. You also want to manage your expectations in such a way that you are avoiding traps that will bog your company down instead of help you move forward.

Determine your corporate role models.

Next, you should have a look at other businesses that run their companies in a way similar to your goals. Connect with these businesses, learn about their corporate culture, and take inspiration from the aspects that best fit your organizational goals. Most companies are very happy to help when you approach them as long as you’re not a direct competitor.

Create a culture of trust.

You also need to make sure that your corporate culture is appealing to existing employees and new hires. Most importantly, you want to ensure that you are trusted as a manager and a business and that your team will continue to be loyal to you. You want to establish a trust based work environment that will make people happy to say they are employed by you.

Use employee and customer feedback.

Finally, you need to ensure that you are really listening to the feedback of your trusted employees and clients. What do they think isn’t working? What would they like to see you do differently? Of course, simply hearing feedback doesn’t provide any change so you have to be willing to implement it.
